Every year, Brian and I take a week vacation. This year, we decided to visit New York. An unforgettable October trip to New York City! The crisp fall air and changing leaves added an extra layer of magic to our adventures.
Our first stop was the American Museum of Natural History. We were in awe of the incredible exhibits, from towering dinosaurs to stunning gems. Afterward, we headed to Times Square and were dazzled by the lights, energy, and constant buzz. That evening, we indulged in some delicious New York-style pizza—it was everything we’d hoped for!
The next day, we visited the iconic Empire State Building. The views from the top were absolutely breathtaking, with the city stretched out in every direction. We also toured the Statue of Liberty and made the unforgettable climb into the crown. Standing at the top, surrounded by history, was a truly special moment. Nearby, Ellis Island gave us a powerful glimpse into the journeys of immigrants who helped shape America.
We took some time to explore Central Park, where the fall foliage was stunning. One of the highlights of our park visit was the Central Park Zoo. While all the animals were amazing, we were the most excited to see the penguins—and they didn’t disappoint! Watching them waddle, swim, and play was such a joy. We also enjoyed a cup of hot cocoa from a nearby food cart—perfect for the crisp weather.
Our trip wouldn’t have been complete without visiting the 9/11 Museum. It was a deeply emotional experience, and we left feeling moved by the strength and resilience of so many. From there, we went to the top of One World Trade Center, where the panoramic views of the city and beyond were breathtaking.
We also stopped by the New York City Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which is currently under construction. It was a meaningful and peaceful moment amidst the city’s hustle and bustle.
On one magical evening, we got to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The show was absolutely incredible—filled with jaw-dropping effects and captivating performances. It was a true highlight of our trip.
And of course, the food! From bagels and deli sandwiches to an unforgettable meal at an amazing Italian restaurant, New York’s culinary scene didn’t disappoint. Every bite was a treat, and we’re still dreaming about the desserts we tried!
This October trip was everything we could have hoped for. New York City’s energy, history, and beauty (especially in the fall!) made it a trip we’ll never forget. We can’t wait to visit again someday!
